NEVER USE ANY TYPE OF COOKING OIL ON YOUR WOOD BOARDS. THIS WILL DAMAGE THEM.

With a little care and maintenance, you can prolong the life of your KRH Board by many years.

What’s the difference between Serving/Charcuterie Boards and End grain or Edge Grain Cutting Boards?

Serving/Charcuterie boards are face grain boards. It is Best to only serve food/appetizers on these types of boards. Not to cut on.

End Grain or Edge Grain Boards are best used to cut food on. The exposed End Grain/Edge Grain will take knife cuts better.

How do I get rid of onion or garlic odors on my board?

Use lemon or lime juice with a little salt to help reduce odor. Sprinkle your KRH Board with kosher or table salt. Cut a lemon or lime into quarters and rub the salt into the board. Squeeze some juice onto the board as you go. Then, let it sit for a few minutes before wiping the board clean with a damp cloth. Wipe with a clean paper towel to remove any remaining water or simply let the board air dry upright.

How do I store my KRH Board?

Always store your new KRH board on its edge, away from direct sunlight. This will help prevent warping.

How do I sanitize my KRH board?

To sanitize your board, use a mixture of diluted chlorine bleach or vinegar solution. Use one teaspoon of liquid chlorine bleach in a quart of water, or a 1 to 5 dilution of vinegar.

NEVER soak or submerge the board in water, as this will alter the board’s moisture content and could cause splitting. Remember: wood cutting boards are NOT dishwasher safe.

How are boards put together?

Once boards are cut, jointed and planed, they are put in a correct pattern order and glued with Titebond 3 Glue. This glue is water proof and water-resistant. It is food safe where food will be presented, serve or cut. Boards are glued and clamped for 24 hours.

Serving Boards are then planed, sanded, lasered, re-sanded, oiled, waxed, then four rubber feet are mounted with stainless steel screws.

End Grain Cutting Boards are planed, then recut to form a beautiful pattern. The board is then reglued, sanded, lasered, resanded, oiled, waxed, then four rubber feet are mounted with stainless steel screws.

How does KRH come up with Cutting Board designs?

KRH uses Computerized Cutting Board Software for each design. Many pattern designs have been created but only a few make the final cut. We try to make our boards unique and different from what other woodworkers create.
